Thursday, July 07, 2005 What I like about worship is that we can come, broken as we are. By ourselves, we are incapable of true change. We are seemingly trapped within the patterns and cycles of our humanity. But as we begin to take our eyes off ourselves and place them on Jesus and enter into worship, giving Jesus all out attention, a miraculous change takes place in our lives. Psalms 40 describes it "I waited patiently fot the Lord. He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit. Out of the mud and mire. He set my feet on a rock And gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth A hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear And put their trust in him God transforms us when we worship Him, because He has complete access to our lives. He comes in with His hands of love and fills this desolate place. He puts a new song- His song - deep into you hearts. I just want to sing that song, because it is a song of freedom, a song of redemption, and a song of love. |
